The reason that it took so long to post pictures is that (1) I was waiting on the duvet cover that I ordered from Crate and Barrel to arrive, and (2) I was waiting until I put the right color sheets on the bed to make it nice and pretty for its photo session.

It is 100 degrees right now (it got up to 101 today), and the humidity is suffocating. Why do I live in Mississippi??

Karaoke at the Stone Pony

Last night, Stephanie and I met Anna Leigh and Teresa at Julep for a yummy dinner (I got the shrimp and grits.... again). After dinner and some drinks, we decided we wanted to go to the Stone Pony Oyster Bar.... they have karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights. I had never been there and had been wanting to see what it was like, but the only bad thing about it is that it is in CANTON. Canton is a good 45 minute drive from my house. But other than that, it's a pretty cool place to hang out. We all seemed to have a pretty good time.

Everybody enjoyed some dancing with a creepy gross guy whose t-shirt had "SOUTH POLE" in large print.

Pop's Is Fun

I have just come to the realization that my blog is starting to look a little BLAH with its lack of pictures.

Last Saturday night, my neighbor, Stephanie, her boyfriend, Mark, Jody and I went out to eat at Julep. After we ate, we decided to give Stephanie and Mark a real taste of Mississippi and take them to Pop's Around the Corner. Turned out, we all had a really good time... drank some beer and did some dancing and two-stepping to the Silverado Band (the house band that ALWAYS plays at Pop's). We decided that we did really like Pop's even though it is so far away (on Gallatin Street in south Jackson), and we actually are probably going back tonight.
